There's not a whole lot to report this week. Hayley Atwell and Alfred Molina have been announced as cast members in 'The Prince of Darkness.' I am shocked that it will be Alfred Molina's first work for the studio. He's such a great character actor, and no two roles of his are the same. Originally I was going to go with Bryce Dallas Howard for the lone female role, but I wanted to use somebody people aren't as familiar with. People will soon know all about Atwell though, what with her role in 'Captain America: The First Avenger', it also doesn't hurt that she's fresh off of a Golden Globe nomination.
And I have been
tapped to co-write (with Joey Stark) a sequel to 'The Goonies.' I have never been much of a fan of the original. I always felt it was overrated. But I thought that maybe I could bring in a fresh perspective. And I had an idea almost right off the bat. I just received Stark's initial draft which I will immediately start working on. So 'Goonies' fans have that to look forward to.
